The Isle of Arran has much to offer the visitor, with a great variety of walking ranging from gentle strolls to serious hill walking. There is wildlife everywhere, and there is a good chance of spotting seals, deer or even golden eagles.  For the golfer, there are seven very different courses with outstanding  views. The pretty little villages dotted about the coast have gift shops, tearooms and the Island as a whole is very well set up for the visitor. Local produce include cheese, chocolate, Arran provisions, beer,  and the distillery at Lochranza. Or, if you wish a quiet holiday, and a chance to unwind, then Arran is the place for you.

The Shiskine Valley has many attractions, including Shiskine golf & tennis club. There is an all weather bowling green,  2 tennis courts, putting green and a tearoom. The beach near the golf course is one of the best on the Island, and a great place to go on a hot summers day, or for a walk at any time of year. The Kinloch offers meals, bar, swimming pool, squash court, and  a full size snooker table. There is a good shop / grocer in Blackwaterfoot, butcher, bakery, gift shop  & newsagent, garage with petrol sales, and golf professional shop.
